And your profile is where those conversation starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good news. There is just one section of your profile that you can tune up to really optimize your conversations on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your LinkedIn summary is one of the most important parts of your profile. It\u2019s where you\u2019re going to explain to people what you do, who you do it for, and why they want you to do it for them. We\u2019re going to show you how to do this and give you LinkedIn summary examples to help light the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are 5 tips to perfect your LinkedIn summary.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #1: Choose the Keywords You Want to be Found For<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A lot of people don\u2019t know this, but your LinkedIn summary is searchable, which means it can (and SHOULD) be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalmarketer.com\/digital-marketing\/search-marketing-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">optimized for SEO<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like how keywords help website content rank on Google, the keywords you use in your profile will help you rank on LinkedIn. To make your keywords the name of your photos, change the name of your photo before you upload it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, your profile is a mecca for those keywords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #2: Write in a Narrative Format<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your summary should be written from <em>your voice.<\/em> This means that you\u2019re not saying, \u201cMarcus Murphy is the Head of Business Development &amp; Partnerships at DigitalMarketer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, <em>you<\/em> are talking<em> to<\/em> your profile visitors. Write your first draft, walk away, and then come back to see what can be polished.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li><li><strong>Don\u2019t use industry jargon or buzzwords<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Keep your language simple\u2014you\u2019re not trying to win a spelling bee, you\u2019re trying to show <em>anyone<\/em> that lands on your profile that you\u2019re an expert in your field.
