It\u2019s better than ads, better than social media, and better than organic traffic\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I said it.<br><br>In fact, I did my FIRST launch back in 2020 and made almost 6-figures by sending just 8 emails to my list of 2300 subscribers. Yup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But don\u2019t just take my word for it, here are some stats to prove it.&nbsp;It is estimated that there are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingsherpa.com\/article\/chart\/how-customers-want-promo-emails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">4 BILLION active email users right now<\/a>&nbsp;(and that number is projected to go up, btw).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Email marketing consistently delivers&nbsp;<strong>the highest ROI&nbsp;<\/strong>of all marketing channels \u2013&nbsp;earning on average&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dma.org.uk\/uploads\/misc\/marketers-email-tracker-2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$42 for every dollar spent<\/a>\u2026 and in case you don\u2019t want to do the math on that\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>That\u2019s an ROI of 4200%!!<\/strong>&nbsp;I don\u2019t know of a single brand or business that wouldn\u2019t love to see numbers like that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And just in case gaining a massive ROI isn\u2019t enough to convince you\u2026 this probably will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingsherpa.com\/article\/chart\/how-customers-want-promo-emails\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According to MarketingSherpa<\/a>, email is STILL the most preferred marketing channel that most consumers want businesses to communicate with them through. YES, even Millennials and gen-Z-ers&nbsp;<strong>prefer email to social media.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And not only is email your consumer\u2019s favorite way of communicating\u2026 it should be your favourite too! And that\u2019s because your list is YOURS.<strong>&nbsp;It belongs to YOU.<\/strong>&nbsp;Not Facebook, not Instagram. YOU.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when you use Email as your preferred method of communication, ALL you have to do to get your message heard is make sure your emails aren\u2019t landing in the spam folder.&nbsp;<strong>You\u2019re not held captive<\/strong>&nbsp;by the algorithm Gods, \u201cplatform rules,\u201d or having to keep up with the latest trends to get your content seen.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you take just a moment to step back and look at the facts, it\u2019s crystal clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While I still love and use other marketing channels\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My girl Email Marketing reigns supreme.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Myth #2 \u2013 Templates Work Better<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is another myth I\u2019ve been hearing over and over again lately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>Why hire a copywriter when I can just use email templates?!&nbsp;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Now for the sake of clarity, in this context, I\u2019m referring to fancy and impersonal emails&nbsp;<strong>that are all show and no substance.&nbsp;<\/strong>You know those fancy-looking HTML emails you commonly see from e-commerce sites or big corporate businesses\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Listen \u2013 they work for brands like Sephora or Apple, well,&nbsp;<strong>because they are Seophora and Apple\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But as a personality-based brand (or as the real PERSON behind the brand), you don\u2019t want to get too fancy in your emails.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why? Well, because facts:&nbsp;Extensive A\/B testing has shown that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/plain-text-vs-html-emails-data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the overwhelming majority<\/a>&nbsp;of consumers prefer simple, text-based emails (you know, just like those emails you send to your friends and family).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only do consumers&nbsp;<em>prefer<\/em>&nbsp;plain jane text-only emails, but templates come with a whole list of other cons to consider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Downsides of Email Templates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>They take a long time to load, depending on your consumer\u2019s internet connection.<\/li><li>Customization can be difficult and unreliable. You can spend hours finicking with a template, where your time would be better spent just writing and personal, empathetic email.<\/li><li>HTML templates often get all funky on mobile if not coded correctly.<\/li><li>They are WAY more likely to end up in the Spam or Promotions folder because of heavy images and design features<\/li><li>These kinds of emails focus on imagery, not on brand voice or actually connecting with the audience.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand\u2026. While copywriters might not be able to design a \u201cpretty-looking email\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They&nbsp;<em>are<\/em>&nbsp;specially trained to WRITE WORDS THAT WORK.&nbsp;They understand how to<strong>&nbsp;craft powerful subject lines&nbsp;<\/strong>that hook your reader and get them to open your email.&nbsp;They know how to open a loop with engaging content to&nbsp;<strong>get your consumers to keep reading\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And they know&nbsp;<strong>the psychological triggers<\/strong>&nbsp;that get people to CLICK and BUY your offer\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And when you\u2019re a business that RELIES on having a&nbsp;<strong>strong<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>powerful<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>and intimate relationship<\/strong>&nbsp;with your consumers\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These factors are absolutely&nbsp;<em>essential<\/em>&nbsp;to your Email Marketing success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alright, now onto the last\u2014and most controversial\u2014myth on this list\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Myth #3 \u2013 AI Is Taking Over<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Look, we\u2019ve all heard it\u2026 AI is replacing copywriters at the speed of light\u2014and&nbsp;<em>especially<\/em>&nbsp;in the Email Marketing world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because I mean, who needs to shell out a bunch of money for an experienced copywriter when they could just spend a quarter of the money on&nbsp;<strong>some fancy automation software<\/strong>&nbsp;that \u201cdoes just as good\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right? NO!!!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Listen, I know AI software and done-for-you templates&nbsp;<em>are<\/em>&nbsp;becoming more and more prevalent in the email marketing space \u2013 there\u2019s no doubt about that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But with that said,&nbsp;<strong>there\u2019s a whole lot more to the story<\/strong>&nbsp;than what the internet would have you believe\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve said it before, and I say it again and again until the day I die\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>A.I. is a&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><em>tool<\/em><\/strong><strong>, not a takeover.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>And as a TOOL\u2014there&nbsp;<em>are<\/em>&nbsp;certain things A.I. CAN help us to optimize, streamline and improve\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Things like: research, ideation, email automation, personalization, and segmentation. You know, the left-brain, back-end, logistical stuff.&nbsp;The truth is that A.I. can actually make an Email Marketers job A LOT easier.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when it comes to replacing the CREATIVITY &amp; EMPATHY that a human copywriter brings to the table\u2026?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It\u2019s just not going to happen anytime soon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And while it\u2019s true that there ARE going to be&nbsp;<em>some<\/em>&nbsp;brands and businesses that will choose to get by with A.I\u2026&nbsp;Their emails will be mediocre, at best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mean it\u2019s just like anything else that\u2019s being \u201creplaced\u201d by technology\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want&nbsp;<em>mediocre<\/em>&nbsp;results, then sure \u2013 go with<strong>&nbsp;a plug-and-play tool.<\/strong>&nbsp;If you want&nbsp;<em>exceptional<\/em>&nbsp;results,&nbsp;<strong>hire an expert<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mediocre accountants are being replaced by do-it-yourself software like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.freshbooks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Freshbooks<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.honeybook.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Honeybook<\/a>&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/quickbooks.intuit.com\/ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Quickbooks<\/a>\u2026 but that doesn\u2019t mean we don\u2019t pay a LEGIT PROFESSIONAL when it comes time to file taxes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mediocre graphic designers are being replaced by tools like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Canva<\/a>\u2026 but that doesn\u2019t mean we don\u2019t pay a GREAT DESIGNER to design our websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you want to optimize your email list,&nbsp;<strong>increase<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>your revenue, and cash in on more conversions<\/strong>\u2026 then you HIRE A COPYWRITER.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s as simple as that. And it\u2019s never going to change.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So here\u2019s my advice to the copywriters&nbsp;<\/strong>who are worried about A.I. takeover and the other Myths on this list\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t be mediocre. Position yourself as an&nbsp;<em>expert<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do that, and you\u2019ll be INVALUABLE to any brand or business that wants to optimize their Email Marketing strategies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THAT\u2019S your&nbsp;<strong>secret weapon.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THAT\u2019S how you make yourself&nbsp;<strong>A.I. proof.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>THAT\u2019S how you position yourself as&nbsp;<strong>an expert in the industry<\/strong>&nbsp;and get clients banging down the door for your talents and services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But now the question is\u2026 HOW?!&nbsp;HOW do you become a&nbsp;<strong>damned good copywriter&nbsp;<\/strong><strong><em>and<\/em><\/strong><strong>&nbsp;email marketer<\/strong>?
